:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from heather -- Shocking level of greed : I read Unsettled in one day. Though familiar with Purdue, big Pharma, and political shenanigans, even I was shocked at the depths our elected officials were willing to stoop to in order to keep money away from the ACTUAL victims of Purdue's ruthless greed. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Robert Samuel White -- An Insightful Tale of Legal Corruption : I'm at a loss for words. As the author says, this story doesn't have a happy ending. I don't know how you can read this book and walk away feeling any sense of pride in our government. The depths to which they have failed its citizens is bleak. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from TJ in Cville -- A gripping, heartfelt personal account of money and power beating hurting people every time : Ryan Hampton tells a gripping, heartfelt story of being one of the co-chairs of the unsecured creditors committee in the Purdue Pharma bankruptcy. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jack H. -- A shocking and insightful account of a corrupt system : Unsettled is a fast-paced, well-written insider's account of the shocking and reckless greed at a big US Pharma corporation. More horrific then the ethics and behavior of Purdue and the Sackler family, is the story of how the financial resources that should help those whose lives were destroyed by prescription opiates were protected, wasted and squandered. One of the many lessons in Unsettled is that companies like Purdue don't betray the people they are supposed to serve in isolation. Their destructive behavior was protected by legal systems, agency "watchdogs" and political leaders who betrayed our trust and must be reformed to prevent something similar from happening again. I highly recommend reading this story and for those who are able to advocate for the necessary changes to our broken oversight system. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Edward Bisch -- Eye Opening : UNsettled could of been titled UNjust because that is what the author UNveils in exposing behind the curtain treachery that was perpetrated on the victims of the "most evil family in America" by the very officials they looked to for some semblance of justice. This may go down as the most infamous bankruptcy case in history that I call BANKRUPTCY SCAM! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jason Rudeen -- Unsettled is... UNSETTLING : You know what I like about Ryan Hampton? He don't sugar coat nothin'! This book is disheartening and infuriating! One can only hope that someday, somehow through all of these horrible, painful lessons learned, that the system can be reformed. One piece at a time, one loophole at a time... - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Barbara Hampton -- Gripping from the first sentence!! What we all need to know about this American judicial travesty. : Sadly this book allows us to see what really goes on behind the scenes in our halls of “justice” when you have enough money to dupe the entire process for the benefit of unambiguous greed. Hampton does pass the torch though, to those of us who care enough to change a broken system. Never, never give up! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Sandra Chavez -- Judge Drain delivers the Sacklers full immunity : Well written first hand account of what it was like inside the PurduePharma bankruptcy case. Ryan Hampton showed great courage getting this story out to the American public. Thank you for risking it all to tell the truth we as individuals don’t matter to our country. There is unequal justice for the wealthy. The length the Sacklers went to flood America the past 20 years with Oxycotin has devastated families, took our loved ones lives and left us with gaping holes in our hearts. This is a must read if you want to know the truth of how the Sacklers bought everyone: judges politician doctors universities and the legal skirt they hid behind “bankruptcy” when they weren’t bankrupt! They got away with mass murder and they kept all of their wealth. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2021 )
